Parrot length 26 cm (body), 7 cm (tail), weight 220 grams. The color is olive green. The beak is pale yellow. The throat and head are dark blue, shiny. The forehead is white, the undertail is red. The shoulders are brown with a golden sheen. The belly is light green, the beak is pale yellow. Inhabits Central America from eastern Mexico to western Panama. The bird lives in wooded areas, foothills up to an altitude of 1600 m above sea level. Parrots gather in groups of 30-50 birds. They feed on various seeds, nuts and fruits. May damage crops. Nests are arranged in tree hollows. Females lay 3 to 6 white eggs directly to the bottom of the hollow.
